I was wondering if there is any information on students loans and getting out of default with the department of education. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately, on Fed Loans it is very harsh and draconian and the government has got everything locked up. Pres Trump made it worse during the DOGE stuff by allowing the government to go after social security checks of people in default. I heard he might have back off that. But he also eliminated a lot of the debt waivers set up by Biden for fed loan recipients. The key to avoid further collection attempts is to get out of the default status. There are several programs to do this. Some are attorney run. Google organizations that are set up to get you out of the default status and see what is out there. Good luck.
