Small Claims RFA and RFP dates

Brett · June 23, 2026

I would like to get some clarification on RFA and RFP dates. A little backstory. filed RFA and RFP with the court electronically after 5pm so there is an extra day added to the count according to my state the due date fell on a court holiday (Juneteenth) on Friday which pushed the due date back to Monday June 22.

The return date was May 29 which the commissioner said we will adjourn because of the counterclaim I filed the day before. The commissioner also said that some of my RFAs she will not make the plaintiff answer because as I looked into it this was because they had legal conclusions in them. (This was before I signed up for killdebt hence the mistake in my RFA) BTW I do remember the commissioner asking do you know the due date and I said I think it is around June 18 which was before I added the after 5PM factor.

Now does the time start at the return date of May 29 because the commissioner amended it OR does it still start at the date they were filed? Or should I just file the motion deemed admitted after June 29 to make sure I don't get caught like I got the due date wrong I can say something along the lines of the deadline was June 22 and I waited patiently by my mailbox until July 1?

I had great replies from parkergpt on this type of thing! Maybe ask it for clarification? Like say, how the establish timelines for due dates, how to frame questions? Also give the rocket a try, if your not getting responses you like.
