PLAINTIFFS REPLY TO AFFIRMATIVE DEFENSES

Amohab · August 13, 2026

Anyone have any guidance on what a reply to affirmative defenses means? Plaintiff has filed this with the court. My affirmative defenses includes disputing personal liability on business credit debt, securitization, and lack of standing due to securitization. The filing basically disputes my affirmative defenses.

Any guidance on what this may mean for my case.

Discovery has been served. Answers are evasive. Waiting on supplemental answers.

Check your state rules. You may be facing an older attorney. It used to be in some jurisdictions that you had to reply to affirmative defenses or they become "true." But that has largely been eliminated in most states. Check your rules. Maybe just the attorney not knowing the current rules or just doing it for billing purposes. The Rules "Rule."
