How should I proceed? I thought I was in the clear because they went quiet. But, just received this Motion for Summary Judgement. Parker isn't giving me any guidance when I upload it. Just re-subscribed to killdebt just to sort this out.

ParkerGPT will help and those cheat sheets will be helpful for the hearing date. A lot depends on the who or what the Plaintiff is (creditor v debt buyer). Also, sometimes a motion is filed to get you to settle or not to lose the right to file it. Keep an eye as to whether a Notice of Hearing is filed. That is very important to calendar. If no NOH, they are not taking it seriously. If you engage them, remember to say, "This is only for settlement discussions and I dispute I owe this debt" a couple of times during any settlement discussions.

Thanks, Brian. So, I just checked the case summary portal and see a "Notice Of Hearing. Hearing Calendar Request" was just created the other day.
What's the best way to approach this? The Plaintiff seems to be the actual creditor, JP Morgan but I also see they are a collector. Confusing.
The plaintiff is requesting a hearing for September 4th.
"TAKE NOTICE that the Plaintiff in this action has filed Motion for Summary Judgment, which will be held before the District Court Judge presiding at the Buncombe County Court House, Courtroom 2A, at 9:30 a.m. on September 4, 2026."brian · August 14, 2026
