At my case management conference against Discover/Cap One last week, Cap One's lawyer told me and the clerk magistrate that they (Cap One) are not required to send me any proof that Cap One owns the debt because "mergers work different...read the National Bank Act". The clerk agreed with him even though she admitted that she has never read it and she advised me to get a lawyer. Brian, do you have a video advising what to do in this instance?
