Hey all! Has anyone had luck either themselves or with a company, getting collections, particularly from debt buyers, off of credit reports WITHOUT paying the debt you allegedly owe? I need to fix my credit quick, fast and in a hurry. I know most debt buyers can't show that they own the debt per FCRA regs, but, not really sure where to start with that whole shebang. Thanks!

It’s a slow process. Don’t think you’ll make it happen that fast. You have to send paperwork back n forth and even then the credit agencies don’t do it. Even after you show proof of the win in court. I received 3 letters from the credit reporting agencies and they pretty much all said the same thing, I was indebted to Citibank. Even after the letters and a win, midland credit is still reporting me.and so I’m sending them letters making them prove they own the debt. I’ve been on it myself and this is after winning the lawsuit. One on appeal which I’m working on now, see this note form the counsel of plaintiff,
Good morning Sir;
I don’t have immediate authority concerning the credit reporting request, but I’ll chat with my client today. There may be a bit of a logistical maze to deal with as the appellate division currently has jurisdiction but we’ll figure out how to get this done. Thanks for getting back to me. I’ll be back in touch shortly. Thank you.

The dispute cra letters (sent return receipt requested and keep copies of everything) work within 30 days. It puts a burden on the cra's so they often will just delete with enough issues presented. Make sure you load up your dispute requests with lots of proof and place a note on the letter listing the attachments. It makes it harder to turn you down and cause them greater work to get to the truth. Hope that helps. BPP

I literally cleaned up my entire credit report in 7 days for everything with the exception of the repo, that one took my almost 45 days because they were digging their heels in so I had to fight for that one to be removed but eventually it was...do you have a specific question about the process? (for context, 4 of the accounts I had removed were 3rd party debt buyers and I also had 3 personal installment loans, 2 revolving accounts all charged off and a car repossession )

Good job! Do you have to do things in a certain time frame? I've got so much going on right now that I have to put this off for 1-2 months, but I got notice a couple weeks ago that one debt buyer put a negative report on my credit. I haven't even taken a look at it yet.
