My grandfather originally from Cuba was sued by capital one merged discovery bank on a debt of a credit card with the amount of 3982 dollars I believe. I got into this community because I am trying to help my man. I filed the answer yesterday and have been following any single step that parker gpt had gave me, but we got to the point that my grandpa is refusing it to appear in court. He has sleepless nights, he is nervous, talking about how scary court could be for a 70 years old man. It has been such a nightmare. He is also under social security now, so it is so hard for him to hire a lawyer to represent him and I wish I could go and fight for him but I can not. I can not even go to court and translate because we got a letter from court saying that in Florida, you are not allow to have an interpreter from court, you need to bring your own interpreter and they do not provide anything which I do not understand. Does anyone could give me a little higlight on this situation. We do not want to ended up having a judgment, that is why we deceided to answer as quck as we could, but now do not know what to do if he has to appear in court and he can not speak. @Brianparker would you have an opinion ? Thanks, I already advised you to obtain a translator for him on several other mediums. With very few exceptions, Social Security can not be touched generally. Thank you.
