Pretrial is a phone call

Hello community! I'm involved in a case with Velocity Investments. I've filed an answer with affirmative defenses, and am counter suing for violations for federal and state law. Our first pretrial is a phone call with only the plaintiff and myself. What's the best way to handle this? I'll drop my suit if you drop yours?
