Debt Validation After Payment Plan with Collection Agency

Hi,

I recently negotiated a payment plan with a creditor after I was served a summons. This was before I found this community. I went through a law office to handle the answer and they negotiated with Discover/collection agency on my behalf. Is it possible to stop payments and ask the creditor to validate the debt even after I made payment arrangements?
