Hi, can someone give me a pointer if they are facing the same situation.

It's Washington State. 2 credit cards each with it's own summon and complaints, combine to a little over $30k.

Nelson & Kennard, LLP served them on behalf of BofA.

I only received the summon and complaints and no other documents. Am I supose to be receiving any othe docs to support their claims attach to it?

They only reference the word "account." no mentioning of "debt"

Do I file an answer as well as Notice of Appearance, or just the Notice of Appearance so not to get a default judgement and start negotiating with them?

Any help would be much appreciated.

You are not in jeopary until you are served a lawsuit. It appears you were served and you Answered to protect yourself. I hope you filed a Counter Affidavit with the Answer. Without knowing the process in Washington, you generally wait on the court to set a pre-trial date to go over the litigation plan. There will be many opportunities to settle this. As I make the point in my long video, you will get a much better settlement deal the more chips you have. So, I hope you followed some of my lead to get the best deal. That starts with the Counter Affidavit which is really you telling the other side how they screwed up and they need to get out of this. I have several videos on the site on how to settle the debt with a collection attorney and great check lists accompanying the videos. There are good attorneys in Washington that I have dealt with over the years. Good state for consumer work. Good luck.

Thank you Brian for the response. I already filed my Notice of Appearance and currently digesting your file to suit my need. It’s very enriching. I just need a little bit more time to figure how to answer along with doing the counter affidavit, although I don’t think WA requires it here in Pierce County District court. Any Attorney you can recommend?
